Starting with just two classes a week in a church hall in January 2025, E17 BJJ has grown into a full-time academy offering 19 weekly classes across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo, Muay Thai, and children’s martial arts — while staying true to the positive, supportive community that built it.

BJJ Lead Instructor

Mouncif Afif

I'm a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt with nine years of training experience. BJJ has completely transformed my life, making me fitter, healthier, more confident, and giving me a sense of purpose that I couldn't find elsewhere.

I've competed across the UK and European circuit for many years and still enjoy testing myself on the competition mats. While I love the technical side of Jiu-Jitsu, what I'm most passionate about is helping others experience the same benefits that the sport has given me.

That's what led me to create E17 BJJ: a welcoming, community-focused academy where anyone can learn, improve, and enjoy the journey, regardless of age, background, or experience leve..

I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and No-Gi specialist with years of experience competing and teaching across the UK and internationally. I’ve competed on Polaris and other high-level grappling events, developing a style heavily focused on submission grappling and leg locks

.

I’m passionate about helping students understand not just what works, but why it works. My classes combine technical detail with a relaxed and approachable atmosphere, creating an environment where beginners and experienced grapplers alike can develop their skills and confidence on the mats.

BJJ Lead Instructor

Hugo Dvorecky

I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and teach both Gi and No-Gi classes on Thursdays for all age groups. My girlfriend introduced me to BJJ, and I was immediately hooked by the idea that technique can overcome size, strength, and athleticism.

I’m an active competitor and enjoy regularly testing my skills on the competition mats. My classes are beginner-friendly and focused on building strong fundamentals, while more experienced grapplers can expect additional details, concepts, and technical variations tailored to their level.

Over the years I’ve competed extensively and earned multiple IKBF State titles, while continuing to develop as a fighter and coach. Ryan Nee

I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and active competitor who has been training since the age of 4. Growing up around the sport has given me a deep passion for both the technical and competitive side of BJJ, and I’m always looking to improve my game on and off the mats. I enjoy helping newer students build confidence in their training with clear concise coaching and creating a positive environment where everyone can develop at their own pace.

        Juan Salome

I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner who supports the team by helping students develop strong fundamentals, confidence, and a positive approach to training across kids, teens, and adults classes.

Alongside coaching, I also work as a qualified referee across different grappling events in the UK. This gives me a strong understanding of both coaching and competition environments. I also still compete regularly to stay active with my own Jiu-Jitsu. My coaching style is friendly, structured, and focused on helping students understand and improve step by step in a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
