Hey everyone,

It’s been great seeing more people back on the mats as flu season seems to be easing off. There’s nothing quite like a busy room, with familiar faces returning and new people joining the mix.

Women's Taster Day | This Saturday!

This Saturday, Jenny will be leading our Women's BJJ Taster Session, giving lots of new faces the chance to experience Jiu Jitsu and hopefully helping us grow our brilliant female community. This will replace the usual Women's Only class for this week.

A big thank you to everyone from our women's team who's offered to help out. Having friendly faces around who remember what it's like to be new can make a real difference to someone's first session. Let's give everyone a warm E17 welcome! 💙

🥋 New Black E17 Gis Incoming!

Juan has been modelling the prototype for a while and looking good in it, we've had loads of requests for a black E17 BJJ Gi, and we're finally making it happen!

Pre-orders are now available in the Shop section of the Lumo app, so you can secure yours before they arrive.

If you've been waiting for a black Gi, now's your chance! 🖤

📱 Lumo Reminder

A quick reminder to keep booking your classes through Lumo and checking in when you arrive.

We're looking at ways to make check-in even easier, so watch this space. In the meantime, please keep using the app to help us keep everything running smoothly.

📅 Coming Up

Saturday 24 October - Women's BJJ Taster Session

Sunday 8 November - Caveman | Attacking the Guard Seminar

23–28 November - Rip & Roll III | Anza, Morocco 🇲🇦

Tip of the Week

Find Your Favourite Position

When you're new to BJJ, there's a lot to learn. Getting familiar with the main positions helps you understand where you are in the game and what your options are.

But once you've got those foundations, start paying attention to which positions you enjoy and where your Jiu Jitsu works best.

Maybe you naturally find your way into half guard, love working from side control, or feel most comfortable attacking from the back. It might be a position that just clicks with you, or one you find exciting to learn.

Once you've found it, spend more time there. Build your understanding, practise your options and learn how to respond when things don't go your way.

Over time, you'll develop a much better feel for the position and the reactions you can expect.

You don't need to be equally good everywhere all at once. Learn the whole game, then start building your own.

See you on the mats!
